Donald is recognised state-wide as an outstanding school. VCE results over the past 10-15 years have been consistently excellent, which has resulted in our school regularly being ranked in the top non-selective public secondary schools in the state.
We also consciously cater for all ability groups by providing flexible learning options. These include VOM, School Based Apprenticeships and VET courses at the senior end of the school. We also provide Hands on Learning and days at the North Central Trade Training Centre for younger students.
We believe that we set high expectations for our students, our leadership group is united in developing and implementing strategies to improve our school and overall we have very supportive staff, parents and local community.

Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Learning
The school continues to be strongly supported in the community. The strong co-operative partnership with secondary schools in the area, partly through membership of the North Central Schools’ Cluster, continues to give benefits to our students.
The development of video conferencing for educational use provides exciting opportunities for schools to extend their range of subject offerings. The school has forged close partnerships with Donald businesses, WorkCo, the North Central LLEN and Youth Connections.
The staff continues to be highly dedicated and prepared to “go the extra mile” for students. They continue to maintain the strong educational ethos and values that the school built up over a long period of time.
Currently we have 22 teaching staff, 5 educational support staff members, a business manager and an office assistant. The leadership within the school consists of the Principal, Assistant Principal and 2 Leading Teachers.
They are supported by an elected Local Administrative Committee and School Council.

Enrolments have fluctuated between 170-185 over the past six years and projections for the next few years are within this range. In the past few years there has been an increase in student enrolments from outside our normal student catchment.
